Join us for a presentation with Beverly Gordon followed by a group conversation. Gordon will discuss how working at the Shaker Workcamp and Hancock Shaker Village in the 1970s impacted her subsequent academic research projects, her spiritual energy, and her creative artwork.
Beverly Gordon, Professor Emeritus, Design Studies Department, University of Wisconsin-Madison, taught a variety of classes relating to the designed environment: textile and fashion history and appreciation, and world dress; material culture; global perspectives on design and culture; design thinking and problem-solving. She published numerous books, including Shaker Textile Arts (University Press of New England).
