Member Event | Curatorial Walkthrough of Form and Function: The Beauty of Shaker Design

Join us at The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls for a special curatorial walkthrough of Form and Function: The Beauty of Shaker Design, an exciting new exhibition showcasing exceptional objects drawn primarily from two private collections — many on view in a museum for the first time. Guided by curator Bryn Schockmel, members of the Shaker Study Group will enjoy a behind-the-scenes exploration of the exhibition’s central themes: “Shakers at Work,” highlighting industry and craftsmanship, and “Shakers at Rest,” a thoughtful survey of furnishings and objects used in everyday life, from chairs and tables to storage boxes.
EVENT INFORMATION:
12:00 pm: Convene at the Hyde Collection, 161 Warren Street, Glens Falls, for a brown bag lunch. If the weather cooperates, we’ll have lunch outdoors on picnic tables. In the event of rain, the museum has kindly reserved one of its art studios for us to gather.
1:30 pm: Curatorial walkthrough of Form and Function. Following the tour, we are welcome to explore the rest of the museum!
ADMISSION FEE: $8/per participant
